Two of the most beautiful avenues of Buenos Aires City, Del Libertador and Figueroa Alcorta, will be soon renewed. The objective is the area between the Faculty of Laws of the University of Buenos Aires and the Carlos Thays Park (where the giant aluminum flower sculpture is located). The project includes the full renovation of the surrounding parks and the creation of an exhibition center.
The area is part of
the Mile of the Museums, including the Railway Museum, the Sivori Visual Arts Museum,
the Palais de Glace, the Recoleta Cultural Center, the National Beauty Arts
Museum, the Decorative Art Museum and the Latin American Art Museum (MALBA). Many
green areas of our city are located between these parallel avenues or in the
close surroundings (Palermo Woods, Barrio Parque, among others).
Besides a great place
to go for a walk, this area of Recoleta, Palermo and Belgrano neighborhoods,
houses most of the embassies and consulates in the city. The Faculty of laws,
the Japanese Garden and the old power station building are some of the great
places you can see along Figueroa Alcorta and Del Libertador Avenues. It’s
really easy to get there from our Hostel Colonial: a bus and a 10 minutes
travel will do.
