This Saturday February 16th starts a new edition of Buenos Aires ATP Tournament (known as Copa Claro). It will take place in the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, located in 1510 Olleros Street, Palermo neighborhood, in the middle of Palermo Woods, in front of the lake. The clay court will receive some great players in the start of the season which leads to the great clay event of the year: Roland Garros.
The Copa Claro is part of the
Latin American ATP Tour and receives many clay masters as #5 ranking player
David Ferrer and #11, Nicolás Almagro. Other renowned players who will visit us
in this edition are: Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka (#17), Brazilian Thomas Belucci
(#32), Spanish Pablo Andujar (#45), Italian Fabio Fognini (#47) and Spanish
Albert Ramos (#51).
Among local players who will
participate are the Davis Cup Argentina Team who defeated Germany: former Top
Ten David Nalbandian (#84), Horacio Zeballo (#66), Carlos Berlocq (#67) and
Leonardo Mayer (#72).
The tournament will receive its
two last champions (David Ferrer in 2012 and Nicolás Almagro in 2011). The last
10 winner of the Copa Claro are either Argentinian or Spanish. The largest
winner of this tournament is the great Guillermo Vilas (8 times). Don’t miss
the chance to see great players in a wonderful court.
