Tomorrow starts the Flag Day
Holidays in Buenos Aires. We celebrate Flag Day on June 20, the date of the
death of the creator of our flag Manuel Belgrano (in 1820). The Argentine flag
was created on February 27, 1812 during the Independence battles. The flag was
first raised in Rosario City, next to Paraná River. The colors were inspired by
the ones of the Patriotic Society (a civilian group founded a few years ago). The
sun is a symbol of a free new country.
In this opportunity, the Flag
Days holidays were extended including Friday 21, so many people will choose the
following days to travel. If you’re visiting Buenos Aires these days, you’ll
see a less crowded city, as many Porteños leave town. It’s a great occasion to
walk around and visit the main sightsees with no much people around.
Come celebrate with us and enjoy
Buenos Aires City from our Hostel Colonial, located in Downtown, close to
everything you have to see. We are waiting for you!
