Last week, the Buenos Aires City
Government opened a new chamber music hall in the “Usina del Arte” (Art Power
Plant), located in La Boca neighborhood. The Usina is dedicated to music,
dance, theater and visual arts. The new hall has capacity for and audience of
280 people. This is one of the last works on this old building remodeled and
reopened in 2011. Hostel Colonial tells you all about this new awesome space.
In the official opening people
enjoyed a show with local musicians Pedro Aznar (folklore-jazz), Adrián Iaies
(tango-jazz), Pablo Agri and Alejandra Radano (tango) and the Camerata
Bariloche (classical music). The new room showed to be a great place to enjoy
intimate introspective music. It has the same acoustic characteristics as the
Symphonic room but focused on the chamber music necessities.
During August, a series of
concert will take place on this new music hall. Although they are not yet
confirmed, in the next week the information will be available on the Usina del Arte website. If you are visiting this marvelous building,
part of our architectural patrimony, you can also enjoy the exhibition “Van
Gogh, my dreamed exhibition”, a retrospective of the artist’s work displayed in
new media formats.
