The
contemporary ballet of the San Martin Theater presents two great choreographies
for dance lovers: “Desde lejos” (From Afar) and “La canción de la tierra”
(Earth song). This ballet conducted by world class choreographer Mauricio
Wainrot who made the famous “Four Porteño Season” with Astor Piazzolla music.
Hostel Colonial tells you all you need to know about these great works you can
enjoy during November and December.
Desde lejos
(From afar): it has original music by Wim Mertens and it was first played by
the Royal Ballet of Wallonie and later by the Florida Ballet and Bat Dor Dance
Company of Israel. In Argentina it was played by Julio Bocca in 1998.
La canción de
la tierra (Earth song): the music belongs to genius Gustav Mahler at the same
time his older daughter died and the cardiac disease that carried him to his
death was discovered. It is divided in six songs based on the creation of
Chinese poets.
You can see
these ballets on Thursdays at 2.30 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 8.30PM and
Sundays at 7 PM on the San Martin Theater (1530 Corrientes Ave).
