Today´s highligths from Hostel Colonial is Temaikén, the best zoo park in Argentina
Temaikén is located in Bethlehem of Escobar, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, which is just 50 km. from Buenos Aires where is located Hostel Colonial.
Temaikén in Tehuelche language, means Land of Living and derived from the words tem: land and aiken: life.

The Tehuelche were Patagonians or native peoples of southern Patagonia.
Temaikén is a fleet of more than 34 hectares where recreate the three major habitats of Nature: Water, Earth and Air, which are several native species and other regions of the world.
It consists of three main sectors:
The African zone, with flamingos, pelicans, antelopes, suricatas, lemures, wolves, zebras and hippopotamus.
The area with Asian tigers, fruit bats and squirrels, among others.
The area of native species, with two areas: Mesopotamia and Patagonia.
The Aquarium is a fascinating field, whose journey begins with the Poza Tide, which represents an atmosphere of coastline that runs by floods and tidal action; continues in Freshwater Aquarium, which recreates a river of Mesopotamia; , and ends at the Marine Aquarium, with fish in the Argentine Sea.
The 360° Cinema , through its eight screens, images and sounds completely surround the viewer and carry on a trip for nature over time and space, making and shared responsibility for the care of the planet.
Two Interactive Centers have the most high tech resources:
"Patagonia Alive": an area that promotes knowledge of the fauna and Patagonian discloses. The Conservation Project of the Andean Condor, where the Foundation Temaikén actively involved.
"Water Tells Her Story": a space devoted to knowledge and awareness about the importance of water in our planet.
Particularly I commend it, although the Buenos Aires Zoo is better situated geographically and animals are well cared for, the Temaikén infrastructure is superlative and makes worthwhile travel a greater distance. Restaurants in several categories (grill, pasta, fast food, ice cream )bathrooms in perfect condition, quantity and cleanliness, good signage, great parking, medical center and animals that is not common to see in a zoo, make this site a great option at the time exiting Buenos Aires.
