PORTEÑO PHOTOS (By Hostel Buenos Aires)

The San Martín Theater (1530 Corrientes Ave.) presents the photo exhibition “Buenos Aires, 24 horas” (Buenos Aires, 24 hours). Since last Tuesday and until Sunday December 12, it’s an opportunity to observe the most intimate and characteristic of the Porteño habits. Images belnging to the thousands of photographers which participate regularly on the contest “Gente de mi ciudad” (People of my city).

Postcards from our own city which become a new way of approaching places that we often circulate. A new glimpse resulting perfect to know the city and its inhabitants from a particular point of view (submerged in the everyday movement). The Costanera, the Avenida de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, the Congress, crowrds, loneliness, young people, couples, salesmen, tango and dozens of different subjects.

The extra of this exhibition is the chance to see a selection of the best Works in ten years of one of the most renowned national photo contest. More than 20 thousand images were the material to select from. Scenes, pictures and situations where the interaction among the characters and the scenario is the key to the “Porteño way”.

The exhibition is free and is on from Mondays to Fridays at 12PM and Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays at 2PM. If you are coming to Buenos Aires on summertime, don’t worry, the exhibition will be repeated from January 17 to February 27 the next year. Whether you are visiting us now or coming in a couple of months, you should not miss the chance to know a bit more about our city and its inhabitants.
