The Government of Buenos Aires City offers mobile audio guides to know the city in a different and independent way. There are 12 options to know the history of the city through the voices of its inhabitants. You can hear political speeches, testimonies of actors, movie dialogues: sounds and music of our historical Porteño past with information on key spots of Buenos Aires. Hostel Colonial tells you which those spots are.Each tour is a group of stops from which you can make a phone call to get information on each particular attractive of our city. The call contains precise data on the place and, in many cases, voices, music and testimonies associated to that spot. For example, in the Plaza de Mayo, you can hear the voices of Eva Perón and the Mothers and Grandmothers of the Disappeared.
The main tourist circuits of Buenos Aires are included: 1. Plaza de Mayo; 2. Abasto; 3. De Mayo Avenue; 4. Palermo Viejo; 5. Monserrat; 6. Puerto Madero; 7. San Telmo; 8. Corrientes Avenue; 9. Palermo Woods; 10. Recoleta; 11. Retiro; 12. La Boca. There are maps of each circuit in the Government of Buenos Aires website, ready to be downloaded and printed (in PDF format). You can also get those maps on the Tourist Information Spots.
You can get the audios anywhere by dialing from your mobile phone the number *8283. The service is available in Spanish, English and Portuguese. If your mobile phone belongs to a different country and you can’t dial the *8283 code, you can use the local number (54 11) 4126 3344, which is programmed for foreign mobile phones.
