Valentine’s Day is not a traditional celebration in Buenos Aires, at least not in this date, February the 14th. However, some years now, this celebration came into fashion and it is progressively replacing our traditional September the 21st (also Spring Day) as the date to celebrate love. Hostel Colonial suggests you some places to go with your old/new love in this special day.You might be travelling with the love of your life or with an occasional couple, someone you’re falling for or someone you’ve just met in Buenos Aires that stole your heart. It’s not important who you’re going to celebrate with but the celebration itself. That’s the reason why this Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to approach that special one. From parks and romantic sights to aphrodisiac restaurants, Buenos Aires offers you a solution for every need.
In this day, many people prefer the bars of Plaza Dorrego, in the heart of San Telmo neighborhood. Some offer a dinner by the candle lights and some others give roses to the ladies. The backing scenery is the cobbled paved streets and an (almost) full moon which couldn’t miss the celebration. In the restaurant issue, a classic is “Te Mataré Ramírez” and its aphrodisiac menu and live erotic shows, an audacious proposal.
Parks are also a great place to celebrate, if you’re planning a day out. You can organize a picnic in the Bosques de Palermo, by the lake, or a walk by the Río de la Plata (River Plate) Riverside Path. You will also find lots of places selling flowers, chocolates, teddy bears and all kind of presents, or restaurants, bars and pubs offering special discounts for Valentine’s Day. You just have to pay attention.
