PLANET BUE -AR - POST 2 - BUENOS AIRES, A TRIP FROM EUROPE TO SOUTH AMERICA

Buenos Aires was considered, during the whole 20th century, the most european city of South America, as we can appreciate in its colonial architeture (Hostel Colonial its an example of that).
The french-style palaces, the port and the english ferryboats, some gothic buildings and and many other influences, added to the urban planning, are evidences of this title that enriches the concept of metropolis, but with the avatars of the last 20 years this "european look" maybe had existed only in the buildings.
In and outside migrations, economic crashes and a deep crisis of the the cultural and social thought have aimed the fake european idiosincrasy and consequently, it came closer to South America.
Some people will think that it is a retrocession, but I think it is a great goal, because it joins elements that can be atracctive to european and asiatic people as to americans, and at the same time these elements helped to assure a new identity, wich is closer to the recent reality.
Paris and Madrid are famous for their coffee shops, Rio de Janeiro for its juice bars, San Pablo for its hot dog fast-foods and Caracas for the "arepas" restaurants, Buenos Aires maybe can be also famous for its pizza restaurants and bars that are open almost until the morning.
All of these cities are quite different from each other, but the South American ones have a powerful union, stronger yet in Buenos Aires, due to the recent explosion of the fenomenon.
The informal culture have invaded the streets and how can´t we be absorved by this urban contemporary movement that is increasingly more and more in Latin America and it´s going to be impossible to stop at least during the next 5 years.
Culturally is pretty, interesant, creative, unique and strong.
The pedestrian streets Florida and Lavalle, the most important peatonals of Argentina, are good examples of these hits.
In one side, thousands of tourists, officers and common people walking, eating and buying in all kinds of places, on the other side they are turning themselves into a sort of no-exit street, where different influences are mixing people that are always living a extreme emotions life.
They are pretty happy and sad. Sellers, artists, human statues, music bands. The street Tango shows depict the machism in a strong way(maybe due to the illusionist power that it represents) and also add a strong romanticism that doesn't exist in other latitudes.
Buenos Aires is changing. It has done a trip from Europe to South America, once more, like those that foundated it, and gave the last names of millions of people that live here. So, the analisis, the discussion and the doors of my city are open.
