BAFICI: INTERNATIONAL INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

Next week starts the 14th edition of the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI). From April 11 until 22, you can enjoy 449 films in 23 different spaces around Buenos Aires City. Since 1999, the BAFICI has grown to be one of the most important independent festivals in the world. Its goal is to promote new film makers and to make room for innovative, risky and compromised proposals.

This edition will take place in the traditional places as: the French Alliance (936 Córdoba Avenue), Abasto Shopping (3247 Corrientes Avenue), MALBA Cinema (3415 Figueroa Alcorta Avenue) and Cosmos-UBA Cinema (2046 Corrientes Avenue). As a novelty, there will be projections in the renewed Planetarium (in Palermo) and its 360º view full dome: Pink Floyd’s The Wall and a U2 movie, among others. There are also free open air projections in the Parque Centenario amphitheater.

The international competition has 15 movies from Australia, Chile, Canada, Spain, Holland, Greece, Portugal, Serbia, Argentina, USA, Israel and Filipinas. The Argentine contest has 14 films, most of them world premieres. The BAFICITO (small BAFICI) offers the traditional schedule for children with movies around the world conceived for the small ones.
