ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN FOR THE BICENTENARY (By Hostel Buenos Aires)

For those who love architecture, design, interior decoration and landscaping, last Friday opened “Casa FOA”, the largest and most famous exhibition on these specialties in Argentina. This year, in agreement with the celebration of our Bicentenary, it’s focused on traditions and classic works, along with new trends. Until November the 14th on the historic area of Buenos Aires.

An old tradicional house covering 2500 square meter son 269 Defensa Street presents the exhibition. A special place, where the first urban settlement of Buenos Aires took place. Historic streets that witnessed the birth of our homeland and, probably, our architecture, design and landscaping. Between Montserrat and San Telmo neighborhoods, the three-story house has 40 exhibition spaces for our creatives.

This 27 edition of Casa FAO emphasizes the federal spirit of our nation by calling for the first time to architects and interior designers from all across the country to compete in the creation of a loft for young people. The award winning project and their designers can also be found in Casa FOA. The perfect place to put up with the last and best of the Argentine architects and designers.

The recovered old house in Defensa Street, will continue to work as an office and housing project after the exhibition. Those who visit it may also enjoy an original food proposal: delicious dishes from “La Panadería de Pablo” (Pablo’s Bakery), who will cook in an open cuisine where the audience can participate and appreciate the making of the different dishes.

More information on Casa FOA’s website.
