Puerto Madero is already a classic destiny for Buenos Aires tourists. Hostel Colonial tells you which are the classic sightsees you have to see, visit and photograph, and some curiosities you can find in the area. Dock by dock: the best of Puerto Madero.
Dock #1: limited by the Alicia Moreau de Justo Avenue, the Dellepiane and Rosario Vera Peñaloza Boulevards and the South Coastline (Achával Rodríguez Avenue). Among its classics are the Malecón Building, Madero Tango and the floating Casino (located in two ships in the shores of the River Plate). A driving range is being built for golf lovers in the area. In December 2008, the remains of an XVIII Century galleon were found here.
Dock #2: limited by the Rosario Vera Peñaloza and Azucena Villaflor Boulevards. Here you’ll find the building complex of the Catholic University of Argentina, the boutique hotel “El Porteño Building” and the tallest El Faro Towers (connected by bridges from which you can see the Uruguayan coast). On our South Coastline is located the famous statue of Lola Mora, one of the most famous sculptures of Buenos Aires.
Dock #3: limited by Azucena Villaflor and Macacha Güemes Boulevards. Here’s the greatest Puerto Madero sightsee: the Puente de la Mujer (Women Bridge), a true postcard. You’ll also find the Hilton Hotel and the Tower of the oil company Repsol-YPF. The Sarmiento Frigate is anchored in this dock and can be visited. There’s a curious monument to the multiple F1 Argentine champion, Juan Manuel Fangio, along with its Mercedes Benz W196.
Dock #4: limited by Macacha Güemes and Cecilia Grierson Boulevards. The “musts” here are the Yacht Club and its restaurant, the Telecom Building and the Fortabat Art Museum. Some years ago there was a disco imitating the architecture of the Sydney Opera House. Nowadays, the Cecilia Grierson revolving bridge is being repaired. There, every afternoon, you can see the yatches sailing to the Yacht Club.
