BUENOS AIRES INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

Last Thursday started a new edition of Buenos Aires International Festival (FIBA). It’s a space for the most important expressions of the contemporary scenic arts, which takes place since 1997. There are many national and international shows you can see in this relevant festival for Latin America.

Every two years, this meeting gathers an artistic diversity expressed in new aesthetic explorations and the new tendencies of theater, dance, visual and sound arts, among others. The great innovators of the theater and dance scene gather in Buenos Aires. This allows local artists to think their own production and the audience in general to enjoy high quality works.

This edition prioritizes the theater power to catalyze the social status quo. An idea condensed in show as those presented by the German companies “Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz” (“I’m looking you in the eyes, social context of blind rage!”, written by René Pollesch) and “Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz” (a version of the immortal classic “Hamlet”) or “The fascist lover”, presented by the Chilean company Fábrica de Sueños.

Some of the places where you can enjoy the Festival are: the Teatro Presidente Alvear, the Teatro Regio, the Teatro San Martín, the cultural space anfitrión, the Teatro Sarmiento, Beckett Theater, Centro Cultural de la Cooperación Floreal Gorini, Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires, Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas, cheLA - (Centro Hipermediático Experimental Latinoamericano), Ciudad Cultural Konex, among others.
