THE FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Next four days Argentina will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculta Conception (Holiday of the Virgin). An important date for Catholics and a symbolic date for Argentines, as people place their Christmas trees. This Thursday December the 8th the Christmas spirit officially takes over Buenos Aires. As every year you can enjoy the large trees that the Buenos Aires City Government decorates in the main city squares.

This extended weekend is also a great chance to visit sightsees of Downtown Buenos Aires, as many Porteños leave the city in the classical holiday trip to the Atlantic Coast. Hostel Colonial is close to the Obelisco, the Plaza de Mayo, the Congress, San Telmo and Puerto Madero neighborhoods.

Every square and park, every store, museum and building of Buenos Aires will reflect the joy of this time of the year. If you are visiting our city in the next weeks, you will enjoy the unique experience of a Christmas in summertime.
