MUSIC AT NOON

In May, the Buenos Aires City Government program “Music at Noon” presents different recordings which depict a wide panorama of Argentine music of all times and styles. During May, at noon, in the San Martín Theater (1530 Corrientes Avenue) you can stop by to enjoy Argentine music while you have lunch, take a drink or simply relax to the sound of different classic and modern styles.

The invitation is Tuesdays to Fridays from 1PM till 2PM in the Central Hall of the Theater. The entrance is free of charge and it’s really close to our Hostel Colonial (just 12 blocks away). During May, the menu tributes the month of our homeland (as we celebrate the Day of Revolution on May the 25th).

May Schedule

Thursday 10 and Friday 11: Guitar concertos for traditional Argentine music (folklore and popular music).
Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16: all time troubadours and masters of guitar.
Thursday 17 and Friday 18: urban and country songwriters, Argentine jongleurs.
Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24: our jazz. Traditional jazz musicians apply this musical language to our local music.
Tuesday 29: All times Argentine cumbia style, dancing festive music.
Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31: pop-folk and folk-rock, contemporary proposals which mixture our folkloric tradition with rock and pop rhythms.
