The Buenos Aires City Government organizes the tour “Jewels of the Bicentenary”. A guided visit through the grounds of La Rural (2704 Sarmiento Avenue), one the most outstanding constructions made during the Argentina Centenary (in 1910). Until November 26, every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, you can visit the installations of one of the greatest buildings of our city.
The buildings which compose La Rural and a number of
monuments inside its ground have been declared National Historical Patrimony. This
place preserved some of the best architectonic examples of our Centenary. These
are spaces with a great historical, architectural ad cultural value. “Jewels…”
it’s a nice tour to find some of the best kept secrets of Buenos Aires City.
The tour lasts 60 minutes and goes through the Equine
Pavilions, the Sales Room, the Central Court and the luxurious Frers Pavilion. It
also visits the different monuments in the Rural as the recently opened
Bicentenary Square which commemorates the 200 years of Argentina. A guide will
tell you a bunch of great stories involving the place.
